Established UDS Dental Services: Everyday Dental Care

The core of the clinic’s work remains routine care. Regular check-ups and professional cleaning help identify problems early, while fillings, root canal treatment, crowns, bridges and dentures address damage or tooth loss. For patients considering alignment, the clinic offers Invisalign and traditional braces. Wisdom tooth removal and dental implants are provided on a surgical basis, and children’s check-ups are available for younger patients.

Which treatment is suitable, and how long it takes, depends on an individual examination.

Three New UDS Dental Services

UDS Dental has recently added Sleep Dentistry, Laser Dentistry and Self-Ligating Braces. Each service requires an assessment by a registered dentist to determine suitability.

1. Sleep Dentistry

What it covers:
Sleep Dentistry focuses on concerns such as teeth grinding (bruxism), jaw discomfort and snoring-related oral issues.

Assessment may include:

  • Examination of tooth wear and bite
  • Discussion of night guard options
  • Oral assessment related to snoring
  • Botox as a possible option where clinically appropriate

Important:
Botox is a prescription treatment and is not suitable for every patient. A registered dentist must assess whether it is appropriate.

2. Laser Dentistry

What it covers:
Laser Dentistry may be used for selected aesthetic and soft-tissue procedures.

Services may include:

  • Laser teeth whitening
  • Gum contouring
  • Mouth ulcer treatment

Important:
Suitability depends on the condition of the teeth and gums. Results and recovery may vary between patients.

3. Self-Ligating Braces

What it covers:
Self-ligating braces use a built-in clip to hold the archwire instead of traditional elastic bands.

Available systems:

  • Pitts 21
  • Damon

How an Assessment Works

Across all services, the first step is a consultation and examination. The dentist reviews the patient’s concerns, examines the teeth, gums and bite, and explains which options are appropriate. Where a service is not suitable, the dentist says so and discusses alternatives. A written plan and cost estimate follow, giving patients time to consider their choices and check subsidy eligibility.
