In 1961, it partnered with the Japanese Mitsui Consortium and Black Dragon Cement to establish a cement factory, further broadening its business scope.

Kwek Hong Png established Hong Leong Finance Limited in 1966, stepping into the finance and securities industry. He later founded Hong Leong Industrial Limited in 1968, broadening the group’s portfolio. In 1972, Hong Leong secured a majority stake in City Developments Limited, reinforcing its dominance in the real estate market.
